[Completed] March 31st, Noon Pacific: Online Organ Benefit Recital for Nourish Pierce County!

Final update 4/13: I’ve given the recital, you can watch the video of the recital above. We got more than 250 viewers, so I donated the matching and viewing funds of $750 to Nourish and covered the processing fee. We ended up raising just shy of $3,700:

Thanks to everyone who came and everyone who donated!

The program:
Toccata in E minor by Johann Pachelbel
Nun Bitten Weir by Dieterich Buxtehude
Wachet auf by Phillip Nicolai
Wachet auf from the Schübler Chorales by J.S. Bach
Fantasia in D minor by Heinrich Scheidemann
Fugue in G minor (“little”) by J.S. Bach

Tuesday, March 31st 2020 at noon Pacific time (7 p.m. GMT), I gave a half-hour online organ recital to benefit Nourish Pierce County. It was streamed on this page and on the major streaming platforms.

Nourish Pierce County is the largest food bank network in Pierce County, operating 7 brick and mortar sites and 19 mobile sites. They are under a lot of pressure. People are out of work because of businesses shutting down with the COVID-19 threat. Because of the virus, Nourish cannot distribute donated food and needs cash to purchase food for themselves.

We raised money for them. I put up my own matching funds:

  • I matched dollar for dollar all your donations, up to $500.
  • For each viewer of the live stream across all platforms, I’ll gave $1, up to $250

Donate directly on Nourish’s website here. Make sure you make the donation in honor of J.S. Bach, so I know to match your donation. If you donate through my post on Facebook, I’ll match those funds too. Update: I’ve maxed out my matching funds, please consider giving to Nourish and if you make the donations in honor of J.S. Bach, they’ll know I sent you!
